So I am getting really bad at keeping up on the blog. Do I have an excuse? No, not really. Haven't been inspired much really. Lots going on, and nothing going on. Working full-time, mother of three, living in Dhaka. What else is there to say? Not much is new. I still spend my time giving out Ice pack, bandaids, and tums. I check for lice, and for fever during my work days. At home I feed my children and try to have energy enough to be a good Mama.
We did celebrate our survival of LJ's first year. We had a brunch and at least 50 people came. It was fun. LJ did not enjoy his cake. He was quite off put by the frosting and looked to his Ayah to save him from the mess. 'Ah da' he said waving his hands back and forth to signal he really meant he was ALL DONE.
The big ones have been busy with girl scouts, and swim team, boy scouts and soccer. This weekend, we had 6 girls over for a sleepover to say good bye to a friend. It wasn't too bad, they were in bed by 1045, and up at 645. The rest of the weekend was taken up by birthday parties, halloween carnivals, swimming at the club and play dates for kids and puppies.
Next week, we get a holiday! It's a Muslim holiday of Eid-ul-Azha. Most people will leave the area and go on vacation, but for me, I'm looking forward to a vacation at home. Ayah's to watch children, and me to sleep in. Maybe do a craft or two. There will be mass slaughtering of large farm animals in celebration, not sure I'm excited about the street running red with blood, but it's all part of the culture, right? We might stay in, those days.
